Empowering SMEs Through a Dynamic Gap Analysis for Uganda’s Oil and Gas Sector

The Industry Enhancement Centre has launched an exciting Gap Analysis exercise, featuring a dynamic Focus Group Discussion for suppliers and subcontractors in Uganda’s burgeoning Oil and Gas sector. Over the course of three intensive days, we uncovered the challenges faced by Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) as they strive to seize the myriad opportunities available in this thriving industry.

Our discussions will delve into pivotal areas such as Business Development Strategies, Business Formalisation, the National Supplier Database, Market Access and Expansion, Bid and Contract Management, Joint Ventures and Partnerships, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, and Industry-Specific Qualifications and Standards.

The insights gleaned from this comprehensive study will play a crucial role in shaping the IEC’s future projects. By addressing the key issues identified, we aim to empower Ugandan SMEs, ensuring their robust and vibrant participation in the Oil and Gas sector.
