The Industry Enhancement Centre (IEC) is an oil & gas sector led initiative that is empowering Ugandan Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to participate sustainably in the nation’s oil and gas sector. The IEC is a strategic entity through which key sector players are achieving capacity building and transfer of knowledge, skills and technology to Ugandan SMEs to position themselves competitively for sector opportunities

PUBLICIZING AND DISSEMINATING UGANDA OIL & GAS SECTOR INFORMATION

We share sector updates, from business, employment to capacity building opportunities.  We also create the platforms for collaboration, a place where insights are shared, partnerships created, and opportunities provided for Ugandan SMEs to maximize the potential of their businesses. SME CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

We offer training and support to Ugandan SMEs to increase their business competitiveness and to accelerate their growth. These include but are not limited to: (insert link to training tab)

BUSINESS ADVISORY

We offer business advisory services to Ugandan SMEs including but not limited to: lAdvisory on minimum oil & gas sector requirements including;(insert link to business advisory)

• NSD registration, tax planning & compliance etc.
• Coaching and mentorship for Ugandan SMEs to target growth, profitability and improve business performance.
• Advisory on access to finance & investment, access to new market opportunities and diversifying beyond the oil & gas sector.

SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS AND THEMED NETWORKING EVENTS

We provide our members with exclusive access to Supplier Development Workshops and Networking events with specific themes where they can learn from subject matter experts, network with like-minded professionals, share their experiences, and get valuable opportunities to connect with industry leaders, expand their networks, and drive their business growth. IEC RESOURCE CENTRE
We host a resource center with various materials useful to empowering Ugandan SMEs with comprehensive oil & gas sector and related information. Our resource center is also fitted out to enable Ugandan SMEs access online materials and information.

Ugandan SMEs that participate in the IEC services will benefit from a range of opportunities based on their specific needs.

1. Access to information on opportunities in the oil & gas sector.
2. Coaching support to structure your business, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
3. Skills development to enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs to become more competitive.
4. Business advisory support to improve business performance.
5. Financial training support to help businesses access capital and secure funding for expansion.
6. Training and interaction with key sector players including International Oil Companies (IOCs), Tier 1 contractors and key subcontractors.

The IEC is providing support to interested Ugandan SMEs from all over the country who meet the following criteria:

1. 10 Entrepreneurs in Uganda with a minimum of 5 employees.
2. Early-stage and growth-stage businesses operating for at least 2 years.
3. Businesses in Uganda requiring support to grow their business.
4. Businesses offering products and/or services relevant to the oil & gas sector.
5. Business owners ready to commit to training and coaching support.
6. Women, youth and differently abled persons are encouraged to apply.

The detailed criteria for specific trainings or programmes shall be advertised accordingly.

The IEC offers advisory services on formation of joint venture partners and creates a platform for linking Ugandan companies with foreign companies seeking to form JVs in the oil and gas sector;

Option A

1. Visit the IEC Connect Page on our website: (insert link for connect page)
2. Register and create an account with us.
3. Complete application from to create your company profile.
4. Attach all required documents
5. On your dashboard you will be able to search for potential partners by “Category” across sectors, regions or country.
6. Click “Send Request” and include “Reason” for partnering to potential company identified.
7. If the request is accepted, view company profile, conduct due diligence and engage partner for further discussion.

Option B:

1. Visit the IEC Premises at Plot 12, Ngabo Road Kololo
2. At the reception; register your details, reason for partner search, category required.
3. You will be guided further by the team for further support.
