The Industry Enhancement Center (IEC) is a capacity-building center  sponsored by TotalEnergies and operated by the joint venture of Zoramu Consulting Group Ltd and Invest In Africa in support of Ugandan National Content laws, Policies Regulations and Policies.

The IEC’s mandate is to build capacity for Ugandans to achieve maximum participation in Oil and Gas projects by bridging the gap between potential Ugandan suppliers and the Petroleum Industry in support of Ugandan National Content Policy, Legislation, and Regulations.

STEP 1 Profile Creation

    Is the company Ugandan(51% owned, 75% management staff, 90% general staff), CARICOM, other? Is the company woman-owned?

IEC FAQ'S

  • 1.ARE SME'S REQUIRED TO PAY TO BE PART OF THE IEC PROGRAMMES?

    No, it is free to participate in the IEC programmes. SMEs are not required to pay a participation fee. TotalEnergies has sponsored the IEC programmes. All businesses that apply will benefit from a selected number of business opportunities including entrepreneurship and management training, business coaching, mentorship and at no cost.

  • 2.How Many SME's will be part of the IEC?

    A focus on 300 SMEs yearly will be selected to receive specialist training and business support services. SMEs with high potential for growth and committed business owners will receive further assistance to access finance and business advisory services.

  • 3.What happens to other SMEs who register their profiles with the IEC but are not shortlisted for the training?

    SMEs on the IEC website will have access to various resources, including an online library of customized guides to facilitate their growth. They will also benefit from Supplier Development Forums, Themed Networking Sessions, and have access to the IEC Resource Centre.

  • 4.How will my registered details be used and validated?

    Your registration details will be validated by cross-checking with the business registrar (Ugandan Registration Services Bureau). We will also aid with registering on the NSD. Rest assured that data security is a top priority, and your information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

  • 5.What is the IEC Resource Centre?

    The IEC Resource Centre is a well-equipped physical center that serves as a support hub, offering a wide range of services to empower businesses and foster innovation at the IEC. The Resource Centre aims to achieve the following objectives. Firtsly is access to Information and providing a centralized location where individuals can access various information resources that are relevant to a particular subject, industry, or community. Secondly educational materials such as books, manuals, and multimedia resources that support self-directed learning. Thirdly database management which helps maintain an organized database or system that enables easy retrieval of resources such as trainers and business advisors. Fourth is computers which provide access to the internet for research, job searches, and other online activities and Lastly information dissemination which includes essential information, news, or updates to the community.

  • 6.Can I still access IEC services if I am outside Kampala?

    Yes, you can still access IEC services regardless of your location. The IEC services will be delivered at the main Centre located at 12 Ngabo Road, Kololo, Kampala, as well as other satellite centers outside Kampala to enable participation countrywide. The IEC programs and services will be delivered in-person at the IEC centre in Kololo and upcountry satellite centers or virtually to facilitate widespread participation.

  • 7.What happens after registration?

    After you apply, a selection process is done and qualified applicants will be shortlisted to participate in a series of training and business support interventions including (training, mentorship, coaching, access to finance, access to market, business advisory and networking opportunities) to improve their business performance, diversify, access finance and grow their business.

  • 8. What happens to SMEs who are not shortlisted to participate in the IEC?

    These SMEs will be actively supported by the IEC to get the requisite registrations for them to register with the IEC and access IEC services

  • 9. Can I apply if my business is not registered?

    Unfortunately, only registered businesses can be registered at the IEC. Should your business not yet be registered, the IEC will support you to get your business registered

  • 10. Can I apply if am outside Kampala?
