Empowering Uganda’s SMEs in Oil & Gas: Collaboration with UNOC

We were honored to host Samantha Barungi, Chief Operations Officer of the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), at our offices. Her visit underscores the critical need for collaboration in empowering Uganda’s Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the oil and gas sector. This engagement marks a significant step towards fostering growth and sustainability within the industry.

During her visit, Samantha Barungi emphasized the pivotal role that SMEs play in the oil and gas sector. She highlighted the importance of creating a robust support system to ensure these enterprises can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the economy. By partnering with UNOC, we aim to provide SMEs with the necessary resources, knowledge, and opportunities to excel in this competitive field.

The collaboration between our organization and UNOC is driven by a shared vision of sustainable development. We are committed to working together to address the challenges faced by SMEs, including access to financing, technical expertise, and market opportunities. By leveraging our combined strengths, we can create an enabling environment that fosters innovation and growth.

Our joint efforts will focus on several key areas:

  1. Capacity Building: Providing training and development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of SMEs in the oil and gas sector.
  2. Access to Finance: Facilitating access to funding and investment opportunities to help SMEs scale their operations.
  3. Market Access: Creating platforms for SMEs to connect with larger industry players, both locally and internationally.
  4. Sustainability Initiatives: Promoting environmentally friendly practices and ensuring that SMEs adopt sustainable business models.

We believe that empowering SMEs is not just beneficial for the oil and gas sector but is also crucial for the overall economic development of Uganda. By supporting these enterprises, we can drive job creation, spur innovation, and contribute to a more resilient and inclusive economy.

Samantha Barungi’s visit is a testament to the strong partnership between our organization and UNOC. Together, we are committed to making a lasting impact and driving positive change in Uganda’s oil and gas sector. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and achieving our shared goals of growth and sustainability.
