Who We Are

The IEC is an Oil & Gas sector led initiative that is empowering Ugandan Small and Medium- sized Enterprises (SMEs) to participate sustainably in the nation’s Oil& Gas sector.

The VISION of the IEC is to ensure that Ugandan companies are empowered for the oil & gas sector and that they can contribute to successful and sustainable economic growth.

The MISSION of the IEC is to support Ugandan SMEs to enhance their capabilities and capacities to effectively participate in the oil & gas sector and beyond.

What We Do

The Industry Enhancement Centre (IEC) provides strategic and operational support to Ugandan businesses through a comprehensive suite of services designed to build capacity, drive growth, and enhance competitiveness in the Oil and Gas sector and beyond.

Publicize and disseminate Uganda Oil & Gas sector related information including;

Business opportunities and capacity building opportunities and services provided by various stakeholders, agencies, and partners.

Information related to required goods and services (e.g. standards, volumes, duration etc.)

Guidance for registration on the National Supplier Database (NSD) of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU).

Provide enterprise development and business advisory services including;

Supplier and stakeholder engagements We organize and host regular and themed events and workshops to facilitate networking and information sharing among key stakeholders.

Training & capacity building programs on topics including business management, financial management, contract management, health, safety, security and environment, human resource management, supply chain management, quality management and appropriate technical topics delivered by technical experts e.g. Tier 1 contractors.

Coaching and mentoring Ugandan companies.

Provide consultancy services to Ugandan SMEs

Business operations; Our consultancy services offer technical guidance on bid management and advising Ugandan companies on how to pursue and gain any required accreditation or certifications.

Access to finance and investment; We work with financial services providers e.g. banking and insurance service providers to ensure that Ugandan companies are aware of available financial services and improve their financial management practices.

Partnerships and Joint Ventures: We facilitate the formation of partnerships and joint ventures by publicizing Ugandan and foreign companies that are interested in joint ventures and partnerships and facilitating matchmaking on our various platforms.

Diversification and business sustainability: The IEC facilitates Ugandan companies to prepare for low demand periods that typically occur after peak demand construction periods of the Oil & Gas cycle. Our support focuses on sectoral and geographical diversification for sustainability. Such guidance is also on backward and forward linkages within the industry.

Our Team

The Industry Enhancement Centre (IEC) is led by a multidisciplinary team of seasoned professionals with deep industry expertise and a strong track record of strategic execution and project management. The team brings together key expertise n required to drive impactful solutions tailored to the evolving needs of Small and Medium Enterprises in Uganda’s Oil and Gas sector.

Our leadership includes former executives from leading International Oil Companies, supported by Health & Safety plus Project Management and Enterprise Development specialists with extensive experience in upstream and midstream operations. Together, the IEC team collaborates with industry stakeholders, Government institutions, the private sector, civil society, academic institutions, and technology partners to accelerate development, support local content growth, and position Uganda SMEs in the sector for long-term resilience and competitiveness
